Becoming a Member
Joining our Congregation
We appreciate and value the fact that everyone is different, with different needs, goals and schedules. To become a Member of UUCOC, please talk to our Congregation Board President, Kirsten LaBauve and set up a time to sign the Membership Book. We know that, for some, “joining” any organization can be a difficult step. Rest assured that we at UUCOC respect your timetable.
When you become a member, you will be asked to sign a Pledge Card. Although money is necessary to run any organization, if you are experiencing financial difficulties, a pledge of your time and talents can be just as valuable. A list of the types of time and talent contributions can be found here:
Research conducted by the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) suggests that most people who attend religious institutions are seeking community by developing friendships. They are also interested in becoming involved in local issues, and seeking intellectual stimulation and spiritual growth.
To find your personal community of friends, we suggest you consider singing with the choir, participating in the Social Justice Ministry, or taking advantage of the many volunteer opportunities available. As a guest, you are welcome to participate in any of our groups and activities.
